DIY Morning Rose & Green Tea Body Scrub
Guess what.. You don't have to go to a day spa, spend hundred of dollars and walk out half happy, to give yourself a little self care! You CAN treat yourself like a queen, and even better! Pamper yourself in the exact way your body is calling for ~ Being scents, touch, oils etc. The best news is, it can take you 5 minutes or 50, either way the feeling of walking away giving yourself that extra bit of love for the day not only makes you feel and smell incredible, the feeling brews from the depths on your heart when you have given yourself that longing attention.

Self care can be confronting - whether we want to admit it or not. Us as women over the decades have lost connection with our bodies, unconsciously applying moisturisers as vigorously and quickly as we can, covering our natural perfectly imperfect faces with gallons of make up, which then mind you is taken off also so forcefully and most of the time with a hellll lot of toxins (have you actually checked the ingredients in your make up? You should do that.. real soon). Why do we do all of this? Layers on layers on layers on layers, for who? An act of self care, real self care involves dedicated time to self study.. Which one expression of this can lead to creating natural products for our selves, asking your self the questions: What does my body need today? What does my mind need today? What does my skin feel like today? Where in my body needs that extra bit of attention? And what herbs, oils and extras are going to support that coming together.
(Saying this with hard love and experience). Trust me, it's not as scary nor as time consuming as it sounds. I bet the 4 hours you spent on instagram a day, could very well be time spent to self study and care . It is also so extremely rewarding and healing, the process of getting to know every inch of yourself. The woman's body is constantly in a cyclic motion between menstruation, ovulation & everything in Between.. therefor to not check in and mix up what we need on a frequent basis, is simply not honouring the natural fluctuations we could be spending our time understanding, enjoy & embracing.

Below I have noted one of my favourite scrubs that I use in the morning, creating a stimulating, awakening vibrancy without the need for coffee!
(I advise studying your skin type, and looking into your ingredients before applying them to your skin. Herbs & oils are potent medicines and do have effects on the body.. hence why they are so amazing for things like this, detox's and rebuilding immunity)
Roses for my morning: 8 x Use
1/4 cup of Coconut Flour
1/4 cup of coconut sugar
1/4 cup tablespoons of Himalayan rock salt or magnesium salt
2 x tablespoons organic dried red rose petals
2 x tablespoons organic dried Australian Lemon Myrtle
6 x drops of pure rose essential oil
6 x drops of pure green tea essential oil
1 x teaspoon of turmeric powder (for that natural glow & anti inflammatory)
Bonus points
~ I would leave this mix dry, store in a glass jar and choose my activator depending on what my skin needs, for eg. dry skin:coconut oil, oily skin: lemon juice.
~ Add your activator to a thick scrub like consistency, to get a little fancy I like to use left over citrus skin to use as an exfoliant tool.. saves money and also bonus's at removing toxins and old skin.
~ Use simply as a scrub, to apply and then rinse OR if you have those extra minutes in the evening or on a Sunday, leave on for as long as you please for the ultimate nourishment & rejuvenation whilst applying a hair mask, massaging your skin or having a little bathroom boogy with your favourite music ;)

And for all of us that simply just do not want to make this, however want to bathe ourselves with the pure bliss of it, I am in the process of packaging these beautiful hand & homemade organic scrubs for YOU. Stay tuned! All uniquely made, trialed & tested by all different bodies, genders & ages.. With almost to much study (I am a nerd), and of course infused with pure love, mantra & deep intent to be a purely nurturing gift from me, to you.
With Love, Always
El, xx
